Hello SLA Toronto,
I hope you enjoy reading the Summer Issue of The Courier. We hear from our President and President-elect after they attended the Annual Conference in Vancouver. We also hear about the experience of our Student-to-Conference Award Winner, Catherine MacGregor, and it sounds like she had a fantastic and informative time!
We also hear from Kristina Fry who shares five key points she learned at SLA Toronto’s “What I Wish I Knew 5 Years Ago” panel back in May. Being at the very beginning of my own career as an information professional, I found the session very enlightening, and Kristina’s key points are a great recap for those of us who attended, and would be helpful for any recent graduate or new professional who couldn’t make it.
I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage professionals (both new and experienced!) in our SLA Toronto community to share about their experiences through The Courier. This could be what you’ve gained from attending an SLA Toronto event, or what you are learning or observing in the workplace or an educational setting. If you’d like to discuss any ideas, or if you have any general suggestions for The Courier, please always feel free to contact me.
